“There’s a hundred-thousand streets in this city. You don’t need to know the route. You give me a time and a place, I give you a five minute window. Anything happens in that five minutes and I’m yours. No matter what. Anything happens a minute either side of that and you’re on your own. Do you understand?”
It’s hard to believe that Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2011 action-packed drama, “Drive,” is already 13 years old! The film is based on a 2005 novel by James Sallis and has an all star cast that includes:
- Ryan Gosling – The Driver
- Bryan Cranston – Shannon
- Oscar Isaac – Standard Gabriel
- Christina Hendricks – Blanche
- Ron Perlman – Nino ‘Izzy’ Paolozzi
- Carey Mulligan – Irene Gabriel
- Albert Brooks – Bernie Rose
“DRIVE is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day (Ryan Gosling), a loner by nature, who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA’s most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene (Carey Mulligan).
When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best – Drive. Directed by acclaimed director Nicolas Winding Refn (BRONSON), and adapted from the cult James Sallis’ novel of the same name by Academy Award® Nominee Hossein Amini (WINGS OF THE DOVE). It won the Best Director Award at Cannes Film Festival 2011.”
