Whenever we see that Eric Tan has a new release coming out, we take notice.  We’ve been fans of his work for some time now and today, Bottleneck Gallery, in collaboration with ISH, has announced a new print featuring Eric’s signature nostalgic style for the Japanese manga character, Mighty Atom, or as most of us know him, Astro Boy.  This print will be available in 5 stunning versions and if we are being honest, we are going to have a VERY difficult time choosing which version we will be shooting for.  Here is what they had to say about this release.

This Thursday, Eric Tan takes flight with his newest print for the one and only, Astro Boy!

Alongside ISH, we’ve been steadily working our way through a dream team of artists in our ongoing print series dedicated to Osamu Tezuku’s Astro Boy, and we’re thrilled to release Eric’s ode to the manga and anime legend. Eric’s piece appropriately pays homage to movie posters for Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, a movie that Tezuku used for inspiration while creating Astro Boy and the city he resides in, Metro City. Eric’s take on a joyful Astro is heartening, and we’ve created some awesome variants to go alongside the art deco style of the print.
