Since crashing to planet earth over 37 years ago, Transformers, and Decepticons, have been a force to reckon with in the pop culture universe.  The franchise is one of the most popular media franchises ever, grossing over $25 billion dollars.  Canon recognizes a good thing when they see it and have partnered to create a “Canon/TRANSFORMERS OPTIMUS PRIME” as well as a “Canon/TRANSFORMERS DECEPTICON REFRAKTOR” proving that there is more than meets the eye.

“Canon/TRANSFORMERS OPTIMUS PRIME R5” and the “Canon/TRANSFORMERS DECEPTICON REFRAKTOR” are toy robots that completely transform a camera into “OPTIMUS PRIME,” or “REFRAKTOR.”  This collaboration between the shape-changing robot characters and Canon Inc.’s mirrorless “EOS R5” camera will have collectors clearing off room on their shelves.

Takara Tomy had this to say.  “Among our miniature figures “Microman” (Launched in 1974), on which TRANSFORMERS is based, “Canon/TRANSFORMERS OPTIMUS PRIME R5” is realized through our first collaboration with Canon Inc. in the world of the “Micro Change” Series that transforms everyday gadgets such as portable audio players, wristwatches and cameras into robots. The finish is just like a real camera, recreating details such as the ability to remove the lens in the same way as an actual camera, and replicating the design and logo as well as the position of the
buttons on the very popular high-performance mirrorless “EOS R5” camera.”

Now keep in mind, these are toy products that cannot be used to take a photo but it will still look really cool in your Transformers collection.
