John Wick Director Chad Stahelski Has a VERY Busy Schedule & We… Can’t… WAIT!

Look, we’ve made it no secret that we absolutely, unequivocally, explicitly LOVE the John Wick universe.  His love for dogs, cars, weapons and kicking ass knows no bounds.  A MAJOR part of this is Chad Stahelski.  If you don’t know Stahelski, let’s give you a brief moment to catch up.  He was a stunt double for Brandon Lee in the 1994 hit gothic superhero movie, ‘The Crow,’ and he also played Keanu’s stunt double in ‘The Matrix‘ franchise.  He then went on to co-direct the first John Wick film in 2014.  Because he’s an alpha male, he then went on to solo-direct the next 3 John Wick movies and absolutely slayed it.

We were DEVASTATED with the ending of John Wick 4, even though some feel there is still room for 5th installment.  Regardless of how THAT turns out, the studio knows that the John Wick universe is a Brinks truck and they want it backing up to their door again, and again and again.  During a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Stahelski, dropped a couple of nuggets that left us salivating.

He stated that he has been looking for a way to bring Halle Berry back as Sofia, an old friend of John’s from ‘John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum.‘  (Oh, and yes, she too was a fellow assassin and a damn good one too.) Stahelski  was beyond impressed at her work ethic and it showed onscreen because she was a beast and her own force to be reckoned with.  We’d be SO down for this and have our fingers crossed she gets to bring back the Belgian Malinois.

Towards the end of the interview with Rogan, Stahelski stated, “I’m working on this project, ‘Highlander,’ we’re bringing Highlander back.”   This one has been in development for years now but Chad sounded optimistic just the same so we will be waiting for more info.

Stahelski also said, “We have ‘Ghost of Tsushima,’ we’re working with Sony right now to bring it to fruition. It’s a great story, fantastic storyline.”  For you non-gamers, ‘Ghost of Tushima‘  is an open-world, action-adventure video game from Sucker Punch Productions and PlayStation Studios. You play as Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan.  It has some of the best video game graphics we’ve ever seen and it was nominated for a plethora of awards, winning several.

He also mentioned “Rainbow 6 with Michael B Jordan.”  Paramount is eager to get back in the world of Tom Clancy and with Michael B. Jordan as ‘John Clarke’ and Stakelski behind the camera, we are amped.  This could absolutely work and we are always down for more Clancy on the big screen.

Stahelski is obviously very busy and to be honest, it makes perfect sense with his track record.  We really like the properties he’s tied to and our fingers are crossed that he gets to move forward with all of them.  His eye for action films is exceptional and all of these seem like a great fit for him.
