NEW !!! Godzilla vs. Megaguirus Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 2XLP

For the first time ever on vinyl, Big G battles the kaiju queen of the Meganula in GODZILLA VS. MEGAGUIRUS. Composed by Michiru Oshima, with brand new artwork by Attack Peter.

Limited to 2,000 copies, the Mondo Exclusive edition is housed inside a gatefold sleeve and jacket, featuring a double LP with a screenprinted side D. Also available in eco vinyl.

Godzilla returns once more to face the combined might of Japan’s most extraordinary scientists in the second picture of the Millennium-era: GODZILLA VS. MEGAGUIRUS. Looking for new ways to defeat the Big G, the JSDF invent an incredible new weapon called Dimension Tide, which creates a miniature black hole that will transport Godzilla far away from Earth. However, a byproduct of weapon testing leads to thousands of winged insects invading Tokyo and attacking Godzilla. The Big G fights back, but their new queen appears, now kaiju-sized due to Godzilla’s atomic breath. A thrilling battle then occurs as Godzilla goes head-to-head with Megaguirus while the JSDF frantically works to disappear both monsters forever.

GODZILLA VS. MEGAGUIRUS saw the introduction of composer Michiru Oshima into the franchise with a fantastic score that built on previous Toho musical traditions with a view to the future. While using music composed by the great Akira Ifukube for two sequences, Oshima also unveiled her own theme for Godzilla. First heard in a slow and foreboding mode, it’s quickly unleashed in gigantic low tones, as terrifying and inevitable as the Big G himself. Soaring heroic material represents the JSDF and their advanced Griffon aircraft, while powerful brass is used for the threat of Megaguirus. Cementing Oshima’s reputation as a great composer, GODZILLA VS. MEGAGUIRUS is a classic of kaiju musical mayhem.

Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Numbered edition of 1000 featuring 1 x 140g LP pressed on ‘Three Headed Vinyl’ housed inside a gatefold jacket.

Japan faces its ultimate doom as Godzilla’s deadliest foe is back in GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH. Visitors from the 23rd Century arrive with grave news; Godzilla will destroy Japan in the future. Time travelling back to when Godzilla was born, they prevent the birth, but something goes wrong, as when they come back to the present day, the monstrous three-headed King Ghidorah is on the rampage instead. A secret conspiracy is soon unmasked, and only one outcome will save the country: Godzilla must return!

GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH saw the return of legendary composer Akira Ifukube to the series, his first since 1975’s TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA. He showed no sign of slowing down, providing a thrilling and muscular score dominated by the presence of the two headliners. Godzilla’s theme and fanfare are presented beautifully by Ifukube, along with the terrifying material for Ghidorah.

The composer also wonderfully integrates earlier music from RODAN and KING KONG VS GODZILLA that – alongwith his terrific new music – results in a musical monster throw-down for the ages. No one knew Godzilla better than Akira Ifukube, and GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH proves it.

Godzilla vs Mothra: The Battle For Earth

Mondo & Toho present for the first time ever on vinyl GODZILLA vs MOTHRA: THE BATTLE FOR EARTH pressed on 140g BATTRA BEAM X MOTHRA SILK color vinyl and housed inside a gatefold jacket with screen printed D side. Numbered edition of 2000.

The Big G is back, but has Godzilla bitten off more than it can chew? 1992’s GODZILLA VS MOTHRA is a triple threat treasure, with Godzilla battling the legendary Mothra and its dark doppelganger Battra, unleashed by a meteorite and is intent on destroying Mothra and, subsequently, the world. Throw in a rogue archaeologist, his ex-wife, and a multinational company exploiting the minute Mothra Cosmos twins, and you have a thrilling kaiju adventure with a stunning score by the original Godzilla composer, the brilliant Akira Ifukube.

GODZILLA VS MOTHRA is undoubtedly one of Ifukube’s most outstanding scores, bringing together the traditional booming brass and bass that accompanies Godzilla and Battra with a more ethereal sensibility for Mothra and her mission to save the Earth. Godzilla’s theme is stomping in the foreground, and Battra gets similar material with a gigantic doom-laden motif for his destructive power.

But the “Sacred Springs” theme for Mothra is a match for any of them, with Ifukube using it in minor and major modes, with a gorgeous rendition with a female chorus at the climax of the score, illustrating once again that when it comes to the music of Godzilla, Akira Ifukube is the master.

Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla 2 – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 2XLP

Mega Buster vs Heat Ray Vinyl featuring a screen-printed D side. Housed inside a gatefold jacket and complete with a Mondo Exclusive die-cut spot varnish slipcase. Also available on Eco Vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.

Your favorite kaiju is back! But so is the Big Metal G in the 1993 Toho classic GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA II. An exploration team in the Bering Sea finds an unhatched egg before being caught in a smackdown between Godzilla and the giant Pteranodon Rodan. The egg hatches to reveal a Baby Godzilla, but unfortunately, its presence draws Godzilla to its location. However, this allows the emergency service of G-Force to test out their newest anti-Godzilla weapon: the gigantic mecha Mechagodzilla, loaded with missiles and secret weapons to bring down the giant monster.

Once again, GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA II was scored by the legendary Akira Ifukube, whose incredibly thrilling music is a highlight of one of Toho’s best kaiju epics. Of course, the traditional Godzilla theme is front and centre and as rousing as ever, but Ifukube also returns to his wonderful original 1956 music for Rodan.

Mechagodzilla is given a huge, lumbering theme with low brass that conveys its tremendous power. Still, the sweet and quirky material provided to Baby Godzilla is perhaps the highlight of the score, with a solo woodwind motif and beautiful soaring strings befitting the regalia of the son of the Big G. Another Ifukube masterpiece!

Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Mondo exclusive numbered edition of 2000 featuring 2 x 140g LPs housed inside a gatefold sleeve with a screen-printed D side

Terror in Tokyo! Godzilla is back and is determined to cause as much damage as possible in GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA. After the “Big G” delivers a crippling blow to the JXSDF (Japanese Xenomorph Self-Defence Force), the government decides to build a new weapon to defeat Godzilla. Their solution: Kiryu, aka Mechagodzilla, a metal monster packed with all the firepower needed to put Godzilla down. But things go awry when Kiryu malfunctions and turns on the JXSDF, thanks to its use of the original Godzilla’s DNA. Can they get back control and put an end to the “Big G”?

Selected to score GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA was Michiru Ōshima (GODZILLA VS MEGAGUIRUS, STAR WARS: VISIONS), who brought an exciting and heroic musical aesthetic to the film. Employing the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Ōshima’s music sounds as enormous and powerful as the kaiju themselves, with a new menacing theme for Godzilla that uses the lower registers to bring across the monsters immense force.

In contrast, Ōshima’s theme for Kiryu uses high brass for an almost superheroic feel, with both themes working beautifully in counterpoint to each other when the two titans have their rumble. As scary as it is thrilling, Michiru Ōshima’s GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA is one of the most significant scores to emerge from the hallowed halls of Toho.
