Moor Art Gallery has been on a tear with some fantastic poster drops this year and they are back with ANOTHER one that will have Transformer fans ready to roll out. On Fri July 28th, at 6pm UK / 1pm ET / 10am PT Moor Art Gallery will be releasing a new print with a propaganda vibe, “Transformers Optimus Prime 2” by artist Casey Coller.
Casey W. Coller is an American illustrator/artist known primarily for his work on Transformers with IDW Publishing. Casey’s dream of drawing robots for a living started in 1984 and those dreams became reality in 2008 with his cover for ‘All Hail Megatron’ #1 – A clever homage to the cover for ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’ (Seen Below). Throughout 14 years, Casey got to live his dream and in the process has shaped the look of bots on the page.
Here is what Moor Art Gallery has to say about Casey’s upcoming release.
With the upcoming ‘Energon Universe’ comics linking Transformers and GI Joe, there’s no better time than to revisit when the Joes met the bots in a past run. We’re thrilled to be presenting one of our favorite pieces of TF art as a limited print.
A propaganda style poster introducing Prime’s ‘New Colonist Recruits’ by our buddy Casey Coller. Here’s his take on the issue’s story, with incredible evocative color work by Joana Lafuente.
“This was a group of Transformers who have an almost fanatical devotion to Optimus Prime. So much so that they all wore face plates to pay tribute to him. It felt like a propaganda poster-style image was appropriate. Joana Lafuente really drove home the look with her colors.” Casey Coller
Available to purchase Fri 28 July from our Homepage and Transformers Collection page. 6pm UK / 1pm ET / 10am PT.
