We are all extremely upset that David Fincher’s  “Mindhunter” isn’t coming back… perhaps a moment of silence will ease the pain…. NOPE!  Still bummed about that one but today, Netflix has released a teaser for Fincher’s upcoming, uber-violent film and it left us wanting more.  “The Killer” stars Michael Fassbender as a flexible assassin on a mission.  Netflix says: “After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers and himself on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal.”

“The Killer” stars: Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte and Arliss Howard featuring the intense, mood-setting music of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.  (This marks the fifth time Reznor and Ross have collaborated with Fincher.)

“The Killer” is based off Alexis Nolent’s French, 12-issue comic book series that came out from October 1998 – November 2013 and “follows the life of an initially unnamed assassin.”  “A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”

Screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker, who adapted Fincher’s “Fight Club” and “Seven” for the big screen is on board and it looks absolutely fantastic.  The film is set to premier this week at the Venice Film Festival on September 3rd and will then have a limited theatrical release starting October 27th before it hits Netflix on November 10th.
