The award-winning video game, “Bloodborne,” developed by FromSoftware and released in 2015, is a dark action-RPG known for its challenging gameplay and captivating lore. Set in the the decrepit Gothic, Victorian-era–inspired city of Yharnam, players take on the role of a Hunter, tasked with uncovering the mysteries behind a blood-borne plague that has transformed the city’s inhabitants into nightmarish creatures. The game’s intricate world-building and rich narrative have earned it a dedicated fan base.

Fans of this critically acclaimed video game have reason to rejoice as Tune & Fairweather, a renowned publishing house, has just made an exciting announcement. They are set to release “Blood Echoes: A Bloodborne Anthology,” a book that promises to immerse fans in the nightmarish world of Yharnam and its sinister secrets. What’s more, the anthology will feature stunning artwork by the incredibly talented fantasy artist, Shimhaq, adding an extra layer of visual depth to this haunting and enigmatic universe.

One of the most exciting aspects of “Blood Echoes: A Bloodborne Anthology” is the inclusion of artwork by Shimhaq. Known for his exceptional talent in capturing the dark and gothic aesthetics of the Bloodborne universe, Shimhaq’s illustrations promise to bring Yharnam to life in vivid detail.

The art in this anthology is not just a complement to the stories; it is an integral part of the experience. Shimhaq’s meticulous attention to detail and their ability to convey the eerie and grotesque nature of Bloodborne’s world make him the perfect artist to accompany these tales of horror and mystery.

Here is what Tune and Fairweather have to say about this sensational book.

Blood Echoes does not attempt a comprehensive dissection of Bloodborne’s lore. It does, however, testify to the game’s enduring power, and attempt to understand the strong magic it exerts to this day.

The approach is prismatic, filtering the game through the hard-won illumination of essays published shortly after launch, plus a variety of newer essays and interviews commissioned by our guest editor, Simon Parkin (The New Yorker, The Guardian), exclusively for this anthology.

We are also delighted to have the blessing of Future Press to republish a long out-of-print interview they conducted with Miyazaki for their official Bloodborne guide. We can’t thank them enough, truly, for giving this conversation a second life.”
