It’s about time someone did this!  How are we, JUST NOW, getting a comprehensive artbook about the prodigious work of Sir Dave McKean? (Wait, certainly he’s reached the stature of Sir by now right?  If not, we need to fix THAT as well.)  Given his illustrious career to date, “Thalamus: The Art of Dave McKean” is going to be a must-have.  (There is no interior art from the book yet so we added a few of our favorites below.)

Dark Horse Books presents the first comprehensive collection of work from legendary artist Dave McKean in Thalamus: The Art of Dave McKean.

This collection features McKean’s work from Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, Mirrormask, Arkham Asylum, Cages, Black Dog, Raptor, and many more iconic images from modern comics, literature, film, and music. The books also include never-before-seen bonus material with commentary by Dave McKean.  This deluxe two-volume set is collected into a gorgeous slipcase featuring original artwork by McKean, also including a satin ribbon marker in each volume, and a foreword by David Boyd Haycock.

Thalamus: The Art of Dave McKean will span 600 pages, with the set measuring 10.5 x 14”. It will arrive in bookstores November 28, 2023 and comic shops November 29, 2023. It is now available to pre-order for $149.99 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and at your local comic shop and indie bookstore.
